Oryx

This poem was written for someone special (Ankita) while sitting in Doha (airport) in transit to the UK. A small piece that arose out of love and an almost other-wordly warmth in it. The inspiration of this poem was the image of an Oryx emblazoned on the tail wing of Qatar Airways.

Like the Qatari Oryx,
………… swift, sleek and sure,
My heart races,
………… missing a step, in love, so pure.

As the waters ebb and flow
………… ‘neath the rising sun,
Two hearts talk, in silence
………… soft, steady, like the Oryx’s run.

Tears of joy
………… well up,
………… ………… gently flow
Watering the plant of love
………… Of¬†Aden and Kyla
………… ………… Sans pomp and show.
